Location: North Dublin

 

The Environmental, Health and Safety Director has overall responsibility for ensuring that the Company complies completely with all International standards at our worldwide locations.

 

Job Profile

 

Develop, coach, mentor and motivate the site and all employees to ensure best practices (Governance) are used regarding Health and Safety and the Environment. Introduce a behavioural approach to Heath Safety and environment. Utilize different techniques such as Safety Moments, One Point Lessons, 5’S‘ competitive internal audits etc To audit and appraise all departments to ensure that they meet the requirements of Legislation and the company, including the development of Health & Safety Audits and Monthly reports for local sites / Geographical regions. Identify and complete local Health & Safety training requirements for all departments in the company’s facilities (including the management teams), ensuring that they have full understanding of their responsibilities under the law. To be active and visible in driving Health & Safety and Environment improvement and compliance working effectively with other functions and departments across the company. To ensure that local Facilities and suppliers meeting ISO requirements. Development of tools and procedures for continuous improvement of processes and efficiency showing year on year visible improvements. Raise issues to the Executive Team and Chairman for decision making, project review, analysis and improvement plans Supervise in-country HSE teams

Qualifications:

Level - Educated to degree level in a related subject.

Significant international experience – Particularly with European and US standards (OSHA)

Additional specific formal qualifications in Environmental, Health and Safety.

Proven knowledge and experience in conducting safety audits, and analyzing ergonomic and environmental concerns

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing International Environmental, Health and Safety in a high tech/Automotive or B2B Service background within the Oil, Gas and Energy sector.

Competencies:

Proven knowledge and experience with evaluating processes and adhering to Customer minimum standards

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills

Must be skilled in working with Safety Committee volunteer members and management.

Good knowledge and working relationship with International HSE governing bodies

Excellent PC literacy skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

A working knowledge of other global EHS standards and laws i.e. European Directives, OSHA.
