Duties & Responsibilities:

An experienced design engineer, will focus primarily on novel product design and development.  The role includes the following:

Ø work from basic clinical need to device concept to prototype
Ø will interface with physicians and distil their needs into product requirements and concepts
Ø may lead a small design team and develop design development path to achieve project goals, alternatively may work largely alone to develop concepts and prototypes
Ø will apply knowledge of materials and processes to come up with working designs
Ø may be required to progress a project from concept phase into commercialization phase and play a key role there on the product / process / engineering / leadership fronts
Ø will need to interface effectively with team members and other staff, both in plant and abroad, to achieve goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

Ø Qualified to degree level in engineering, science or related discipline
Ø Medical device development experience, ideally in interventional vascular devices
Ø Strong design skills
Ø Proven track record in innovative product design, development and implementation
Ø Experience interfacing with physicians and reducing feedback to device concepts
Ø Project leadership skills and experience desirable
Ø Ability to work across full spectrum of product development process
Ø Experience of medical device design procedures
Ø Broad biomedical materials and processing knowledge
Ø Experience in the design and application of stent-graft covering materials such as ePTFE and its alternatives is highly desirable.
Ø Good team skills - a high level of enthusiasm and motivation, and the ability to take input from others and synthesize into a coherent whole
