My Galway based client has a vacancy for a Development Engineer:
 
Duties & Responsibilities:

Ø Experienced design engineer, with primary focus on the application of finite element analysis and numerical modelling techniques to novel product design and development
Ø will be part of the FEA team that provides support to the medical device division
Ø will liaise with project teams at various design stages to apply modelling techniques to product development
Ø will apply knowledge of materials and testing procedures to obtain fundamental material behaviour data for input into numerical modelling and FEA software
Ø will need to interface effectively with team members and other staff, both in plant and abroad, to achieve goals
 
 Qualifications & Experience:

Ø 3+ years experience of performing FEA in an industrial application
Ø Post-graduate qualification in the application of FEA necessary
Ø Primary degree in engineering or equivalent
Ø Strong design and engineering skills
Ø Experience in the commercial use of ABAQUS, preferably, or another finite element software package essential
Ø Experience in a wide range of complex model types, including the use of non-linear, elastic-plastic, hyperelastic materials etc.
Ø Medical device modelling experience, ideally in interventional vascular devices, preferable but not essential
Ø Good team skills - a high level of enthusiasm and motivation, and the ability to take input from others and apply to project tasks
