PROJECT ENGINEER (TOOLING)

Responsible for the management of injection mold tool build programs. Oversee the complete program management from part concept through to full scale production working with cross functional teams. Establish and manage a supply base for high quality SPI class 101, 102, & 103 injection mould tools as well as highly qualified medical device moulding suppliers.     

Main Duties:

   1. Manage injection mould tool build programs from concept through to production.

   2. Audit injection mould tool builders throughout North America, Europe, Asia

   3. Conduct mould design review with suppliers to ensure that all tooling specifications are met.

   4. Establish injection mould processes using scientific principals such as mould balance experiments, rheology studies, and gate seal experimentation.

   5. Establish part measurement techniques for mould steel sizing to achieve short term mould / process capability of 1.33Cpk or better.

   6. Manage project financials (travel, vendor payments, and capital spend forecasting)

   7. Assist in the development of long range goals and plans for mould making and moulding around the world.

Education required:      

BS in Engineering / Plastics

Experience:

Minimum 7 years injection mould tool build management

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Practical knowledge of mould making and injection mould processing.  Working knowledge of problem solving skills (process map, risk assessment, cause and effect diagrams, Pareto analysis, etc.)

Skills/Competencies:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Other Skills:

Microsoft Project, Minitab, Strong management skills, Professional communication.

Based in the Midlands(prepared to consider other Irish locations for ideal candidate). This position will require >50% travel time to North America, South America , Europe & Asia.
