The Irish ME Trust is the national association for sufferers of the neurological condition of ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis), also known as CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome). In Ireland today there is an estimated 12,000 sufferers ranging from mildly affected to severely affected, the latter being mostly housebound / bed bound. Our primary role is one of information, referral and counselling, although we further involve ourselves in research, lobbying the department of health for the establishment of a diagnostic clinic, and generally catering to the individual requests of members.
